Pampian
Olinda Allessandrini
2004
Audiovisual direction of a medium-length video album. The project brings together 14 video clips by pianist Olinda Allessandrini interpreting the music of Brazilian, Argentine and Uruguayan composers, inspired by the folk culture of the region. The performances interact with scenes recorded by the director and team on a road trip along the border between Brazil and Uruguay. Performing a selection of works by Brazilian, Uruguayan and Argentinean composers, the pianist invites you on a poetic immersion in the pampas region, whose common culture blurs the borders of the countries in the extreme south of the Americas. Visual essays of the land, man and his work interact with an exclusive repertoire for piano, reinterpreting local traditions and proposing a contemporary experience of music and image. Vast landscapes without limits; dresses and boots, country stores; literary quotes in the voice of poet Nelson Coelho de Castro; Olinda's reflections on the universe of the piano – all the strength and lyricism of local music without borders.
